We share two passions: Being in the outdoors and the interest in Chinese language and culture. The joy of Chinese guests experiencing our Swiss mountains inspired us to found Mount Angel Tours. With this young company we present a plattform for the exchange of touristic expertise between Switzerland and China. The name refers to Engelberg (Angel Mountain) the most famous destination of our home Obwalden.
Exquisiteness, Trust and Enjoyment, that is what we stand for!
It all started in a small town in the heart of Switzerland. Karin had elaborated some ideas how to best promote the region to Chinese guests and successfully launched a test day with Chinese friends in the snow.
Shortly after Elisabeth joined in and pushed the idea to the final founding of the company Mount Angel Tours GmbH on May, 8th 2017. Truly a dream company for both of us!
Together with our friends and families, our biggest supporters, we celebrated the foundation of our company on June 24.

Mount Angel Tours GmbH was active at the Swiss Pavillion of World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo 2017
Karin as Co-Founder and Board member of Swiss China Ski Association (SCSA)
Karin taught the famous Chinese actress Huo Si Yan 霍思燕 together with her son Eng Hen嗯哼 skiing in the beautiful scenery of Melchsee Frutt.
Karin studied for a semester in the “Chinese language and culture” program at Wuhan University, central China.
Restructuring of the firm: Mount Angel Tours GmbH becomes a family business owned by my mother and me.
MAT GmbH supports a tourism research study on Chinese FIT’s and participates in the ICOT in Braga, Portugal.
